Gables Celebrates its 16th Annual Gables Day
Online, October 30, 2016 (Newswire.com) - Gables Residential has been giving back to its communities in many ways around the country. One of the most significant ways has taken place over the past 16 years by dedicating a day where all associates come together in their respective regions to focus on giving back to a worthy cause. Gables Day encompasses a full day in each region throughout the fall where approximately 1,000 associates come together to volunteer their time and share in the experience of this special day. Since 2000, Gables Day has resulted in contributions of over $1.2 million in goods and services and approximately 125,000 hours of labor and dedication by Gables associates.
In San Diego, Gables Day recently took place at the San Diego Habitat for Humanity, which brings people together to build homes, communities, and hope. Gables associates spent the day building and repairing aspects of a family home that was in need of assistance.
According to Armando Vieira, Regional Manager for Gables, "This year we chose to dedicate our resources to Habitat for Humanity in San Diego. Neighborhood Revitalization was our assigned project. Our team served a hardworking family that needed home improvements. Gables Day in San Diego encouraged existing residents of the Logan Heights neighborhood to be active participants in the revitalization of their own community. The goal of the Neighborhood Revitalization project is to build a legacy - block by block - not just for one family at a time, but for an entire community. It's really nice to put out so much energy and effort that you know is going to a good cause."

Habitat homes are built with donations of money, materials and labor. Gables, along with several of their preferred vendors, donated a full day of just that, in order to provide a safe and comfortable place for the assigned family to live.
